The estimated costs for an ACM mission trip include:
Airfare: ~$1,300 - $2,300
Trip Cost: *$1,175
accommodations, admin fee, background check, food, lodging, transportation, travel insurance, etc
*an additional $70 per day will be charged for any days over 10
E-Visa : **$50
**if more than sufficient funds are raised, the e-visa expense may be reimbursed (receipt required)
Optional Safari or Rhino Trek
When possible, teams are encouraged to go and see some of God's amazing animals in their natural habitat. A rhino trek is a one-day experience and costs around $80. A one- or two-night safari typically costs between $400-$700, depending on team size and selected accommodations.
Optional Staff Gratuity
Upon your return, gratuities may be sent to ACM's US office. They will be shared equally among ACM's Ugandan staff.

The Yellow Fever immunization is required for entry into Uganda.
The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for any ACM mission team member or intern.

Where will we be staying?
African Children’s Mission is based out of the Ekitangaala Ranch near the city of Luweero in central Uganda. We will be staying in the African Hospitality Institute located on the ranch.
What does a general trip schedule look like?
What does the Trip Cost cover?
The trip cost covers your flight, field expenses (food, transportation, accommodations, etc while you're in Africa), Covid test in Uganda prior to departure, and administrative fees. Hunter Street will be purchasing travel insurance as well. The cost of your passport, required yellow fever vaccine, airport meals or snacks, and souvenirs are not included in the trip cost.
What extra money do I need to bring?
We recommend that each team member bring an additional $300-$400. That money is primarily for souvenirs and travel meals. Africa is a cash economy and we will convert money for use while we are there and reconvert to US dollars before we return. It is doubtful that they will spend that full amount but that is a good amount for “just in case”. Credit cards can be used while in US and European airports.
Is medical care available on the trip?
There is a 24-7 Health Clinic staffed by a nurse at the Ranch where ACM is located. If more extensive medical care is needed, you would be taken to a doctor in Kampala. If the situation was serious, the required trip insurance covers emergency medical evacuation to an appropriate medical facility.
What immunizations/medications do I need to go on the trip?
With Covid, some of the information below may be subject to change. You will be required to get a yellow fever vaccination (can cost up to $200 and is a one-time vaccination that you will not need again), take malaria and de-worming meds (Doxycycline pills included in the trip cost), and take a covid test with a negative result before we go to the airport in Uganda for the return flight home (this requirement by the airlines may change). There are additional CDC recommended vaccines for travel to Uganda but they are not required. Many are the vaccines that students are required to have before they can attend school.

- Friday – travel and arrive in Uganda (stay at a hotel in Entebbe on Friday night)
- Saturday (am) – Arrive at Ranch and orientation
- Sunday – Church and mission sites
- Monday – Thursday – Mission sites
- Friday – Rhino Expedition and last night at the Ranch
- Saturday - Sunday – Depart ranch and travel back to America
